Who Is Eligible for a Church Extension Loan
We work to help strengthen Disciples witness in proclaiming Christ's gospel and glorifying God through vital, accessible and welcoming facilities for new and established congregations. Through New Church Ministry, we also seek to expand the many places Disciples serve by helping establish many dynamic, healthy and diverse new congregations.
Eligible Borrowers
- Congregations listed in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Year Book and Directory
- Regions and Areas of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)
- General Units and the General Assembly.
- Colleges and seminaries listed in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Year Book and Directory
- Recognized organizations as listed in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Year Book and Directory, and the World Convention of Churches of Christ. (Note: "Recognized Organizations" include Christmount Christian Assembly, Conference of Regional Ministers and Moderators, Disciples Peace Fellowship, European Evangelistic Society, National City Christian Church Corporation, National Evangelistic Association and United Christian Missionary Society.)
- The Christian Church in Puerto Rico and congregations listed in their Annual Report.

On a case-by-case basis, and with the adoption of a "Look with Favor" resolution by the Church Extension Board of Directors, loan requests may be received from the following:
- Stone/Campbell tradition congregations or organizations not listed in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Year Book, provided the appropriate Regional Minister and pastors of Disciples congregations in the immediate area will have indicated no objection to the Board providing services, prior to accepting a request for a "Look with Favor" action.
- Loans to congregations or judicatories of other denominations through participation loans with their respective denominational lender.
- Loans to ecumenical organizations with which the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) or any of its general, regional or area units maintain functional, programmatic or financial relationship.
